I WILL alway give thanks unto the LORD; * his praise shall ever be in my mouth.
 
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD; * the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
 
O praise the LORD with me, * and let us magnify his Name together.
 
I sought the LORD, and he heard me; * yea, he delivered me out of all my fear.
 
They had an eye unto him, and were lightened; * and their faces were not ashamed.
 
Lo, the poor crieth, and the LORD heareth him; * yea, and saveth him out of all his troubles.
 
The angel of the LORD tarrieth round about them that fear him; * and delivereth them.
 
O taste, and see, how gracious the LORD is: * blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
 
O fear the LORD, ye that are his saints; * for they that fear him lack nothing.
 
The lions do lack, and suffer hunger; * but they who seek the LORD shall want no manner of thing that is good.
 
Come, ye children, and hearken unto me; * I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
 
What man is he that lusteth to live, * and would fain see good days?
 
Keep thy tongue from evil, * and thy lips, that they speak no guile.
 
Eschew evil, and do good; * seek peace, and ensue it.
 
The eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, * and his ears are open unto their prayers.
 
The countenance of the LORD is against them that do evil, * to root out the remembrance of them from the earth.
 
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth them, * and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
 
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart, * and will save such as be of an humble spirit.
 
Great are the troubles of the righteous; * but the LORD delivereth him out of all.
 
He keepeth all his bones, * so that not one of them is broken.
 
But misfortune shall slay the ungodly; * and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
 
The LORD delivereth the souls of his servants; * and all they that put their trust in him shall not be destitute.

When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger: I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you. And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

LORD, we beseech thee to keep thy household the Church in continual godliness; that through thy protection it may be free from all adversities, and devoutly given to serve thee in good works, to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
