Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my

Father seeketh such to worship him. St. John iv. 23.

Inclina, Domine.
BOW down thine ear, O LORD, and hear me;
* for I am poor, and in misery.
Preserve thou my soul, for I am holy:
* my God, save thy servant that putteth his trust in thee.
Be merciful unto me, O Lord;
* for I will call daily upon thee.
Comfort the soul of thy servant;
* for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For thou, Lord, art good and gracious,
* and of great mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

The First Lesson
Exodus 28:1-4, 29-38
And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel,
that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar,
Aaron's sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And
thou shalt speak unto all that are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they
may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. And
these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered
coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he
may minister unto me in the priest's office. And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in
the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before
the Lord continually. And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and
they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the Lord: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of
the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually. And thou shalt make the robe of the
ephod all of blue. And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding
of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent. And
beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round
about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a
golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to
minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord, and when he
cometh out, that he die not. And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the
engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be
upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be. And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that
Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy
gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord.

The Second Lesson
Hebrews 10:1-14
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never
with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For
then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had
no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he
cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared
me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the
volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering
and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are
offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may
establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ
once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,
which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat
down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by
one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Benedictus. St. Luke i. 68.
BLESSED be the Lord God of Israel; * for he hath visited and
redeemed his people;
And hath raised up a mighty salvation for us, * in the
house of his servant David;
As he spake by the mouth of his holy Prophets, * which
have been since the world began;
That we should be saved from our enemies, * and from
the hand of all that hate us.
To perform the mercy promised to our forefathers, * and
to remember his holy covenant;
To perform the oath which he sware to our forefather
Abraham, * that he would give us;
That we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies *
might serve him without fear;
In holiness and righteousness before him, * all the days
of our life.

shadow of death, * and to guide our feet into the way of

The Apostles' Creed.
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy

crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he

OUR Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come.

from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for
ever and ever. Amen.

The Collect for the Day
The Third Sunday After Easter
ALMIGHTY God, who showest to them that are in
error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they
may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all
those who are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion,
that they may avoid those things that are contrary
to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable
to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Collect for Peace.
O GOD, who art the author of peace and lover of concord,
in knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life, whose service
is perfect freedom; Defend us thy humble servants in all assaults
of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in thy defence, may not
fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
A Collect for Grace.
O Lord, our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God,
who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day; Defend
us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this day
we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but
that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be
righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer for the President of the United States
A Prayer for the Clergy and People.
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect
gift; Send down upon our Bishops, and other Clergy, and upon the
Congregations committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy
grace; and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual
dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honour of our Advocate
and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for All Conditions of Men.
O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee
for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to
make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More
especially we pray for thy holy Church universal; that it may be so
guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call
themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the
faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of
life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are any
ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; [* especially
those for whom our prayers are desired;] that it may please thee to
comfort and relieve them, according to their several necessities; giving
them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their
afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
